Payroll Specialist

Next Day Blinds, Baltimore-Washington’s leading source for costume window coverings is looking for an exceptional Payroll Specialist to join our team. This individual will be part of the accounting team within the Finance department and will be responsible for accurately processing and recording payroll within E-time for two company codes, as well as providing timely and accurate financial data. Consequently, we’re looking for an experienced professional who understands the unique factors involved in processing payroll for multiple companies. The incumbent must be comfortable in a diverse environment with manual processing as well as systems processing. The ideal candidate will be seeking a challenging role with the opportunity to enhance business processes and or systems and be a part of a growing corporate team.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES & SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll processing for both company codes.
  • Processing of monthly bonus after verifying the accuracy of the data being provided.
  • Effectively interacts with employees and management on payroll related inquiries and issues.
  • Reports to Accounting Manager or Director of Finance with updates and problems.
  • Resolves any discrepancies surrounding payroll issues.
  • Ensure checks are mailed and sent to offsite employees in an expedited manner.
  • Process accurate and timely year-end reporting when necessary (W-2, W-2c, etc).
  • May assist with the preparation for audits within the Accounting department. 
  • Keeps detailed and organized payroll records.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or other payroll related field.

  • 2-4 years' experience with payroll processing
  • Expert in ADP e-Time, ADP Workforce Now and ADP reports is a must
  • Expert in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel
  • Should have web based system implementation knowledge and experience

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to process payroll utilizing e-Time and ADP Workforce Now.
  • Advanced math skills and Excel skills.
  • Experience processing commissioned payroll and accountabilities.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi- task, prioritize and work efficiently.
  • Flexibility to adapt to all situations.
